Free Hulu is a free app for Android that will help you get Hulu up and running on your device.

Hulu is an online streaming service that provides viewers access to a wide range of free content. All you need to view this contact is create a free Hulu account, and the television shows and movies you watch will often have intermittent commercials as if you were watching them on live TV. Hulu also has various paid account options that provide you access to additional content and less commercials.

If you want to watch Hulu via your Android smartphone, tablet or other device, there is a free app for that. The app is developed and maintained by Hulu. You can download and use the app as much as you like at no cost, and the app is the same whether you have a free or paid Hulu account.

So, what then is Free Hulu: Stream TV, Movies & More GUIA? It is not, as the name may suggest, an alternative to the official Hulu app. It is not a client at all and does not give you access to content that would otherwise be unavailable. This app is essentially an eBook, but rather than release it in any of the standard eBook formats, the developers have released it as a standalone app.

This eBook slash app walks you through downloading the free Hulu app and configuring it. The app is mostly in English and reasonably well written, but there are some odd misspellings or perhaps use of a foreign language that we did not recognize, which was distracting at times. When you are done with the current page, you can click the arrow labeled “nexte” to proceed.

The app does warn about why Hulu may not be available, such as needing Android 5.0 or greater, or why it may not work, such as requiring at least an 800 by 480 resolution. Free Hulu does have some useful information for casual users, such as how to update the app, clear the cache and otherwise troubleshoot it. But be mindful that the app is not interactive in any way.

What we found odd is that using the app requires you to go back and forth between this one and the Hulu app or Google Play store, and that was not convenient at all. In addition, there is an ad at the bottom of each page, and a new one loads in with each page transition. In some cases, the ad actually blocks the tutorial text and requires you to click a small x icon in order to continue reading.
